Welcome to Kal-Pa-Vriksh

Kal-Pa-Vriksh is a mythological wish fulfilling divine tree. It acts as a source of bounty.

Our organization (KPV) is an effort to be a source of bounty to the needy of the world, especially in the field of healthcare, rehabilitation of the disabled, and education of the poor, especially to those located in India and the United States. We will collaborate with agencies and institutions that will help us in attaining our purpose.

We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. All donations are tax deductible.

Rehabilitation of the Disabled

KPV strives to support the handicapped by providing them with means of employment and sustenance. Supporting them with education and helping them make their future bright. We support schools and institutions that are geared towards the handicapped. Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) focuses on enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families, meeting basic needs and ensuring inclusion and participation. KAL-PA-VRIKSH will supply funding to CBR projects in different parts of India where there is a need. It will be implemented through the combined efforts of people with disabilities, their families, organizations and communities, relevant government and non-government health, education, vocational, social and other services. These projects will help the handicapped to be self-sufficient, and also give them dignity of life. They will be able to support themselves and their families. Projects could range from providing assistance in setting up a small shop/PCO to running a Desktop Publishing firm.

Education

KPV’s mission is to provide funding and resources to impoverished people in India and the US and to support education. We do this in two ways: 1) To individuals in need, and 2) to established schools and colleges for the enhancement, expansion and augmentation of programs. Poverty stricken grammar school, college-bound, and vocational training students are supported with scholarships, tuition assistance and school supplies such as pencils, pens, notebooks, textbooks, school uniforms, and clothing. We focus on promoting primary education with a special emphasis on young girls. We also collaborate with the federal government on projects/programs.

KPV believes education can help break the poverty cycle for the communities we serve. Our focal point is providing monetary support to colleges of nursing, schools of alternative systems of education, and vocational training institutes.

Healthcare

Health care is a critical issue and the poor have scarce resources to turn to. KPV works to offer basic healthcare to those who cannot afford it. We are a bridge between those in need of medical care and institutions that provide for people in need. We offer supplies and financial support to institutions who bring healthcare to the poor. KPV undertakes medical mission trips to India to address urgent medical needs especially in the north-eastern regions.
